Introduction to Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC)
RIMC stands for Rashtriya Indian Military College. It is formerly known as the Prince of Wales Royal Indian Military College. RIMC is the feeder institute for the Indian Naval Academy, National Defence Academy and Indian armed forces. At RIMC, highly talented and strong candidates across the country are encouraged to study.
How to get admission at RIMC
Studying at RIMC is not so easy, it is the dream of many. Candidates who would like to study at RIMC should have to clear RIMC Entrance Exam, entry test taken by RIMC. After 6 months, RIMC conducted a test and only 25 students were selected for the admission test. 50% marks is the passing criteria, furthermore, on merit base candidates are shortlisted for interview and medical. However, Only those who fall in merit are shortlisted for interview and medical.
Framework of Rashtriya Indian Military College
It is spread over 54 hectares and a total of 250 students are enrolled. Chief Marshal N.C. gifted a hawker hunter aircraft to the college which is placed in front of the cadet mess and the Indian Navy gifted a Sea Barrier to the college which is placed in front of the Thimayya auditorium.
Moreover, the teacher-student ratio at RIMC is 1:14. Candidates are selected from all over the country by clearing a national-level test known as the RIMC entrance exam. Only successful candidates are invited for medical and then interview. Every year only 50 students get selected to study at RIMC.
Who admires the RIMC?
RIMC is administered by the Ministry of Defence India. It administered the college through the command of Army Training Shimla. At RIMC, exams for classes X and XII are taken twice a year and they are recognized by CBSE India. This college prepares the cadets to enter NDA in different ways. Social Sciences are studied at RIMC to clear the UPSC examination held for entry into NDA.

RIMC takes a test of candidates seeking admission at RIMC. Students can do RIMC Entrance Exam Coaching from Defence education academy The admission process starts for class VIII. Candidates studying in class VII and not more than 13 years are eligible to conduct the entrance exam for Rashtriya Indian Military College.
Is the RIMC exam tough?
The difficulty of tests depends on the age of a candidate, more age means more intelligence less age means less intelligence. So, RIMC is the toughest exam for the candidates of 11-13 years old. The written exam is a mixture of objective and subjective assessment. A candidate must have deliberate preparation and long-term strategy to clear this entrance exam.
